 Dr. Emily Suzanne Johnson is a professor of history at Ball State University, where she teaches courses on U.S. women’s history. Her recently published book -- This Is Our Message -- investigates the history of women’s leadership in the modern religious right. By examining the lives of famous figures like activist Anita Bryant and televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker, she uncovers women’s important roles in building a movement that has become an integral part of American politics on every level. Dr. Johnson’s work has been published in a variety of academic and popular forums including the Washington Post.

Join us for a presentation of her research followed by a Q&A and book signing. Books will be available for $20 at the event.
