KB:BIG Questions BIG Ideas (Adults) 6:30pm

Event Type: Adult Programs
Date: 3/22/2017
Start Time: 6:30 PM
End Time: 7:30 PM
Description:
A free lecture and discussion series presented by The Ball State University Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies in conjunction with Muncie Public Library. This month's big question is "What is the Qur'an?" For the past 15 years, Islam has been a near constant topic of news coverage. Critics and apologists alike base their arguments about the “true” nature of Islam’s foundational text: The Qur’an. In this talk, we will explore passages from the Qur’an, discuss the various ways Muslims have historically engaged with the text, and address common misconceptions and misunderstandings of the text amongst non-Muslims.
